Seated with Christ in the heavenly realms...
The Greeks don't really have a word for heaven. The word used in Ephesians 2:6 is a compound word and it is a superlative! It literally means "above the high places." Take the highest physical location on the earth, the highest state of soul through meditation or chemicals or natural substances that are purported to "get you high" and heaven is described as being above that!
In the Old Testament God is often referred to as
"The Most High!"
Concurrently, one of the most humbling and honoring things that happens to every one born into spirit is the Ephesians 2:5-6 reality of going from being dead in sin to "made alive" in Christ, raised up and seated together with Him above the high places (in the heavenly places). What Father was instructing me in when showing me this, is the wonder of a baby having a seat at the table. They are not there to be part of the decision making process, they are there because they are Family! Pure love!
My seat at Your table, God... ...is a "highchair!"
So, before we can talk about the authority of being seated above the high places IN CHRIST, we need to feel the humility of our child-like condition in heaven (above the high places). One of the reasons for Papa to show me this, was not primarily for the clever word play, but rather the supreme love of Family.
High chairs are for the childlike who refuse to wade through the swamp of human understanding. Children go straight to the source of life and godliness for life and godliness! Straight to Papa!
Maturity in the Lord will prove to be very child-like in dependence upon Father for protection and provision. A baby has no choice but to trust. As we begin to mature in bringing our souls and bodies under spirit jurisdiction we have the option to trust in many other things but our child-like humility will serve us well and keep us trusting Father as an organic member of His Family!
Understanding Greek and Hebrew can be helpful but it doesn't give you a seat at the table! All the secret hidden wisdom, the deep things promised by those without a spirit, are without eternal value because you need a spirit to communicate and have relationship with Him Who Is Eternal!
Jesus is both Destination and Way!
Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth!
"And this is eternal Life, that they may know You, the only True God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
The Permanence Of Our Seat At The Table
The High Chair is not just for our "morning devotionals." It is not for retreats only. It is not designed to be "visited." The highchair of our seat in Christ is a FIXED POSITION above the high places that can be lived in ALL OF THE TIME!
Paul harped on it with his "over-used" expression "in Christ!" John beat it to death with the word ABIDE. Peter hit it a hundred different ways, as a master weaver, using threads of words and pictures to lead us to "be holy as He is Holy..."
So, if I, if you...if we desire to keep our seat at the table, first we must find our seat at the table... ...then we are called to treasure it so highly that it becomes our only Quest! Our High Desire!
Even before the first person received birth of spirit/Spirit oneness, they knew there was more...
One thing
I have asked from the LORD,
that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD
And to meditate in His temple.
For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle;
In the secret place of His tent
He will hide me;
He will lift me up on a rock.
